Masu is atraditional local industry in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture, and boasts an 80% share of the national market.ThetraditionalMasuis a simple rectangular shape, but the precision of the craftsman is essential in its production. Four precisely cut sideboards are assembled, a bottom board is attached, and the work is finished by applying a planer.ThedignifiedMasuis the result of the skill of a trained craftsman.
