Metalworking technology that has continued since the Edo period in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture

The history of metalworking in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, dates back to the Edo period. Since the Edo period, Tsubame City has been known as a major production center for the manufacture of Japanese nails used in Japanese houses.

The technology for making Japanese nails was inherited and developed into files, kissels, copperware, and other metalworking products, and now Tsubame is also focusing on stainless steel, which is highly regarded worldwide.

The file industry was at its peak around 1937 amid growing military demand. However, with the disappearance of the military industry, the file industry also declined, and Yoshida Yashiri Seisakusho changed its business from industrial files to nail files. Today, there are only two nail file manufacturers and one industrial file manufacturer in Tsubame City.

Yoshida Yasuri Seisakusho, which continues to inherit and protect traditional techniques, is Tsubame City’s pride and hope for the future.

A nail file that no one can imitate

Yoshida Yasuri Seisakusho manufactures high-quality, simple, and easy-to-use nail files. Through trial and error, we have reached a stable production of nail files by experimenting with the type of stainless steel material and the balance of the grain size.

We would like to introduce the nail files of “YOSHIDA YASURI”.

Skilled craftsmen’s techniques shine through in the three-stage file preparation.

YOSHIDA YASURI” is characterized by the fact that craftsmen manufacture the file grain of each nail file one by one, and unlike ordinary stainless steel nail files, the grain of the nail file is finished to the finest degree possible. The sharpening feeling is soft and smooth, and the length and finish of nails can be adjusted with this single file.

The design and matte finish make it easy to blend in with everyday life. The matte black color is colored from the stainless steel itself, so there is no need to worry about it peeling off!

The SHARP150 Pointed Type can be used for standing up mildly ingrown nails and treating cuticles, while the ROUND140 Rounded Type can be used safely by small children and the elderly.

YOSHIDAYASURI” nail files do not damage the skin and are safe for children to handle alone. Parents can tell their children how to take care of their nails, which is also good for parent-child skinship. This high-quality product is an important one-step item in the process of children’s growth.

Nails are a barometer of health! How to use a nail file

Just as we care for our skin, it is important to give proper care to our nails. There are two possible causes of cracked nails: external and internal factors.

To prevent external factors, it is necessary to reduce damage to the nails and moisturize them, and nail files are the best way to reduce damage.

A nail file can be used to gently scrape and trim the nails without stressing them. The key points of use are as follows

  • Move the nail file in one direction, from the tip down.
  • Tilt the nail file about 45 degrees and apply it to the nail.
  • Scrape in a fluid motion without exerting too much pressure.
  • To shorten the nail, file from the underside of the nail little by little.

The nail file does not damage the skin, making it ideal for babies and the elderly.
